Drying Lumber

Wood used for indoor purposes must be dried properly.

Most species of newly felled logs have a moisture content of 60% to 100%. Some species have a moisture content of 160%. Lumber which is not properly dried can later cause the lumber to warp, check and split when nailed. Time taken to properly air dry or kiln dry your milled lumber is time and money very well invested. Short cuts in this process can lead to not only frustration later but loss of valuable materials.
